GAMING SINCE PONG

hey all, i'm really in a bind here.
i have been using xfire, but now-a-days, whenever i start xfire and then go into COD4, (or start xfire while COD4 is minimized), the game will crash with a direct-x error. i can stop this by disabling in-game chat with xfire, but then it is pointless to have xfire.

anyone else have a suggestion/solution?

and yes, i DO have the latest xfire and graphics drivers.

Hmm have you tried completely uninstalling xfire then reinstalling it? I think I had that same problem before except with cnc3 and I think that fixed it. Let me know.
