Ok, I admit I have disliked them ever since they cut their hair and came out with Load.
But this new one, at least this cut sounds a LOT more like master of puppets or And Justice for all. :lpo :lpo :lpo

i heard their new album was similar to their old stuff. i havent liked metallica since the black album. there were some good tracks on there, but it was the start of their sell out phase.

I got every Metallica cd up to the Black album, everything after that was junk. I did buy St. Anger, but it sounded like the drums being played were from a 10-year olds drum set. There new song "The Day That Never Comes" sounds better, they must of brought out a high chair for Lars to reach the big kids drums.

Metallica seems like any other band that has been in the genre too long, the new stuff just isn't as good. They should be thankful for the success they had but I doubt they'll be the power house they once were. Look at a band like AC/DC, who was insanely popular in the 80's but the new stuff was never very good. It happens to everyone, just getting old I guess. :oooo:

Im a fan through and through , have all the albums , like them all . My opinion is , that you cant write the same song over and over and not get stale. So they mature as a band , and write different material, which makes the albums different. I personally like them all. Ive seen them 3 times. When they write an album I dont like , then likely Im done listening to them.

I hear several reasons why people dont like this or that about them or their music. I ,however, like all their music. I dont like them because its the cool thing to do , or dislike them because its the thing to do , I like what theyve written thus far. Ill let you know how I feel about the new album when its out.

Also , I play guitar and have done so in several bands. To me the genius of St Anger , was the garage type sound , or , the non studio sound, whatever you want to call it. I actually liked the snare sound.

Even Canadians like me can't stand her. She isn't popular in this country, at least not with normal folk.
