Just curious as to what many have for a gaming rig setup specs and OS and all. I am familar with some ppls setups, but i like to see what all have for a setup in order to maximize my future setup.

My rig is composed of:

Logitech MX518 Mouse
Logitech G15 2nd Gen Keyboad
Windows Vista 32 Bit OS recently installed this past week with sp1 update too, previously i had XP 32 bit.
1 x 160 GB Seagate SATA 2 HD.
1 x HIS 4850 Graphics card OC'ed to 750/1100
AMD 5000+ Black Edition OC'ed to 3150mhz
Using a Scythe Ninja REV B on the CPU with Arctic Silver 5 paste for OCing and cooling.
Thermaltake 650w ToughPower Power Supply
19 Inch Dell CRT Monitor
2 x 2GB = 4GB G.Skill DDR2 PC1000 memory running @ DDR2 800 (Cpu OC limitation)
1 x LG DVDRW
1 x Panasonic Floppy drive
Antec 900 case with all fans running and a side fan installed as well.

My soon to be built rig will have all the above except i have a Q6600 Quad-Core CPU to install and a motherboard to buy yet which may take me another 3 weeks of saving up for to get one, but i plan on getting a ASUS P5Q Deluxe P45 motherboard.

This mobo has 3 x PCI-E slots for future upgrade. I plan on doing which is run 2 x 4870X2 (or whatever might be out by that time) cards and keep my 4850 in the third slot, which in total = 5 GPU's... wowzer think of the FPS then and graphics at high-high resolutions. I plan on getting a 22" to 24" monitor in the future, but again it takes time for me to save up on such a limited budget i have, but one day i will buy this stuff.

If ppl have quad-cores builds if you post your specs and all so i can see how to maximize this future build as maybe Nvidia will have better options now or down the road for my future long haul upgrade.

I am not sure what a quad-core will do for cod4 as it appears it does nothing no matter what ghz your at either as cod4 is not a multi-thread game, but quad-core (oced or not) will allow for a more speedy game load time and maps, which you can set the priority of the cores to load faster on certain apps or games.

-----------------------------

COD4 settings performance ... i run 1280 x 1024 with all settings that can be turned off is off and others that can be lowered to low i put to low. This maximizes FPS which i can get in GAME up to 350 FPS, average is around 250 - 280 FPS and low is around 80-150 FPS in certain areas of the maps.

I love to see that on high-high resolutions in the future on my future build with all stuff enabled.

If you can list what you run spec wise and settings it will help many out for FPS in the game and allow for them to run and shoot better and what monitor resolution your at and what FPS you get. It will also allow others who have lower PC specs look for what it is they may want to buy for future upgrades in order to get the best out of every game they play.

Oh i almost forgot you have to do the console command of /com_maxfps and type 333 or 350 depends on card and such to get the max out of the tweaked settings i typed 350 ... i also ran the /cl_maxpackets command and set it to 100 for best performance for internet play in cod4.

Many games have such commands to help performance no matter what rig setup you have it will help in game play and maximize your rig specs.

Nice setup you have i did have a 8800 GTS 320mb card in January but never got to play cod4 with it. I figure at stock settings of the config in cod4 you propably getting around a max of 100-150 FPS at your resolution with everything on, try different settings and tweak it out some more like i mentioned with max FPS settings and such in my first post.

In the console type in /cg_drawFPS 1 and that will display the FPS meter,

I also run the lag meter type in /cg_drawlagometer 1 and that will display the lag meter.

Also one thing i forgot to mention i use for performance or better view of the gaming iset my field of view to 80 instead of default 60 and this is the command for it in the console /cg_fov 80 that will set it to 80.

Of cousre just hit enter after each command and they will always be set to it everytime you load the game up .... no need to to do it over and over.

my 3dmark score is around 12,000 so far until i get my quad build setup and Vantage was around 6000 again i wait for my build setup, but you have a awesome build so far.
